'a SHOCKING FATALITV. WELL-KNOWN FARMER KILLED BY TRAIN, Per Association. CHRISTCHURCH. July U. Mr Richard Evans, aged 78, a wellknown Kaiapoi resident, while ©raging the railway line to catch a train for Christchurch, was knocked down, part of the train passing jpver hi® legs. He was taken to a. K,ua|>o inursing home. Mr Evans died about midday. He was chairman of the Waimakariiv Harbour Board and a prominent member of the Farmers’ Union an<L other bodies. ,
