OBITUARY

MR F. E. RIDDIFORD* (By Telegraph—Special to “Times.”) MASTERTON, May 17. Mir F. E. Riddiford. a well-known and highly-respected settler of Bideford, died at a private hospital in Cole street, after a brief illness. The deceased, who -was a son of the late Mr F. Riddiford, of Hawera, and Mrs Riddiford, who is now in England, was 33 years of ago. He was educated at Wanganui College, and afterwards went to- Cambridge, where he spent some years in studying law and medicine, returning to New -Zealand about ten years ago. Air Riddiford engaged in sheep farming, and acquired a property at Bideford. He was a prominent figure in the public affairs of the district, and took a keen interest in the Polo Club *and Bideford Sports Club. ’Death was due to meningitis (brain fever). Thq deceased leaves a widow, formerly Mass Easton, an English lady, and two young daughters.
