Mrs Bates, who has returned from the Ooldea district, where for years she worked amongst the aborigines, states that cannibalism is rife there. At a recent invitation ceremony two natives were killed and -eaten. She gave other instances, when a woman kTlled and ate "her newborn baby, and another woman killed aria, at© her foor babies, ilunger. was . not the cause, but cannibalistic instincts.
