COUNTRY TEACHERS
' THE BOARDING FROBLEM. MINISTER INVITES 00-OPERA-TION. “The boarding of country teachers is - often a difficult problem, ’ said the Minister for Education to a “Time*” representative yesterday; “a difficult problem both for the department and tor the education boards. I hope that school committees and parents will v help ns in this matter. In route in- ' stances, I regret to say, boards have had to withdraw teachers and dose schools because there was no boarding accommodation. Such a step generally brings a storm of protest from the school committee and the parents concerned; but in these times, when Hie Government cannot possibly find rim money to build teachers’ residences, I trust that the local people will bestir themselves to get the teachers suitable accommodation. “Some committees are very energetic in this respect, but a few of them seem to think that the Education Department should do absolutely everything. A little genuine 00-operation on the part of the committees in thin very difficult matter is all I ask.”
