WOMAN AND SANITARY INSPECTOR. .

On a charge of obstructing the inspector of nuisances, a -woman named Edith Kennedy came before Mr Jf. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday. Mr J. O’Shea, city solicitor, said that when the inspector had called to inspect the appliances the defendant had told him that if he wanted to inspect the sanitary appliances in the bathroom he could go and loot through the window. She had informed him that she considered there were “too many inspectors drawing high salaries,” and if he wanted to do any inspecting ho could go and do eo at Taranaki street.

Defendant said she refused to let the inspector see the bathroom as “there ■was a sick man in it.”

A fine of 5s was imposed.
