During the month of April the Wellington Harbour Board’s pilot staff established a record for the port in the amount of shipping handled. The total of overseas vessels brought in, taken out, or shifted by the pilots was 92 vessels, aggregating 410,085 net tons or 691,072 gross tons, la some cases one vessel was han dledino re than once; and a number of small ships' which visited the port were not handled by the pilot staff.
