MAKURA BEATS MAHENO. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, May 9. The Moheno left Sydney at 11.50 on Thursday morning, and the Makura left ten minutes later. The Makura kept the Maheno in sight till Saturday, and with the help of an extra boiler, overtook the Maheno and arrived at Auckland at 6.30. a.m. torday—thirtyminutes ahead.
