The R.M.S. Makura, which arrived at Auckland yesterday morning from Sydney, is to sail from Auckland at 10 o’clock this morning for Vancouver via ports. The Karori will arrive at Wellington to-day coal-laden from Weßtport. She is expected to sail on the return trip to-morrow night. The Kowhai will load timber at Greymouth this week for Wellington.

The Rosamond is due at Wellington tomorrow with timber and general cargo from Greymouth. The vessel, after discharge, will proceed to Westport and Greymouth. Mr J. Dalzioll has joined the Blenheim as engineer. Mr F. Lawton has succeeded Mr 3. Knox as mate of the Baden Powell. The C. and. D. Line advise that the Port Darwin is to sail from Wellington to-day for Wanganui roadstead for Homeward loading. The auxiliary schooneT Houto is now expected to get away from Wellington to-morrow evening with general cargo for Dunedin • The steamer John was due at Wanganui yesterday from Oamaru. The vessel is expected at Wellington to-morrow from Wanganui, and is to sail on Thursday with general cargo for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. She will load at the southern ports for Wellington. Mr B. G. P. Zohrab advises that the steamer Rama is due at Wellington .on Thursday, with cargo, direct from Oamaru. The vessel is to leave here on Fridiv for Lyttelton and Timaru. The C. and D. Line advise that the Port Curtis, which, berthed at Wellington early yesterday morning to discharge New York cargo, will leave here on Monday next for Lyttelton, Dunedin, an ) Australian ports to put out the remainder.

The Mapourika was delayed at Wellington till an early hour this morning for engine-room repairs. The Kauri is to leave Wellington tomorrow on the return trip to Newcastle. The Kokiri will leave Wellington on Thursday for Greymouth to load again for this port. Tiro New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the Waimate is to leave Wellington next. Sunday for Oamaru- and New Plymouth for Homeward loading. Tlvo vessel will return to Wellington: to fill up. The little barque Manurewa, 327 ions, arrived off the Wellington Heads late yesterday afternoon from Grafton, Clarence River, N.S.W., and signalled for a tug and pilot. The steamer Pelican went out, placed a pilot aboard the, sailer, and towed her up to the stream, where anchor was- dropped at 7 p.m. The Manurewa, which .has a cargo of timber for Mr L- G. Porter, left Graiton on April 25th. and therefore ocoupleo fourteen days on the run across. Fine weather prevailed till off the New Zealand coast, when gales and heavy seas were encountered. The Manqrewa is equipped with a combined wireless telegraphic and telephonic plants a description of which appears on page 5 of this morning’s “Times:” The barque will berth probably to-day. TAIROA LEFT BALBOA. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have been notified by cable that fhe Tairoa left Balboa on May 7th for Auckland and Wellington, en • route from Liverpool. THE KANNA. The Union Company advise that the Kanna is due at Wellington on Thursday morning from Wbamgarei and Auckland. Line advise that the Port Hacking is due at Wellington tomorrow from Wanganui roadstead to complete Homewiard loading. The Shaw, SaviU and Albion Company advise that the Mahana is to sail from Wellington at daybreak to-morrow, cargo-laden for London, v ia Panama. THE WAIHEIMO. The Union Company’s steamer Waihemo is due at Auckland about the 26th instant, oargo-laden from the Pacific Slope. After partly , discharging at Auckland, the vessel will put out cargo also at Wellington, Lyttelton, Sydney, ami Melbourne. WAIWERA AT LONDON. Cable news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company that the Waiwera arrived at London on May 7th from Auckland, via Panama. The vessel left Auckland on March I4th.

ARAHURA AND MAPOURIKA. At the end of this week the Arahura is 1 to withdraw from the WellingtonPicton service to undergo survey and overhaul. The Mapourika, sailing from Wellington at noon on Monday next, will take up the Wellington-Picton-Nelson running. When the Arahura is r:n again she will relieve the .Mapourika, ivhich will then lay up for survey and overhaul. HURUNUI DUE MONDAY. The Federal Line advise that the new steamer Hurunui, which arrived at Auckland on Friday, oargo-laden from New York, is to leave the northern port on Saturd/ay for Wellington where she is due next Monday. Tihe Hurunui left New York on March 31st, and arrived at Colon on April 12th, continuing 'Her voyage the same day. She experienced fiae weather until April 24th, when she ran into strong north-west winds and heavy seas. These conditions continued until within a few hours of reaching Auckland, and although the steamer shipped a large quantity of water, she suffered no damage. The Hurunui, which is in command of Captain G. F. Mead, formerly of the Whakatane, is oh her maiden voyage. She was built at Middlesbrough, at the end of last year, to replace the former Hurunui, which, was torpedoed during the war. Her dimensions are: Length, 480 ft, beam 63ft. and draught 32ft. She is 14,500 tons dead weight, and has a speed of 13J knots. The vessel is not insulated, but this provision will probably be made at a later date. The Hurunui brought 1700 tons of cargo for Auckland, and after discharging at Wellington will proceed to Australian porta. RAUPO FROM - NEWCASTLE. Seventeen days were occupied by the Scales barque Raupo on her passage across from Newcastle to Wellington, where She arrived at 9 o’clock on Saturday night. Pratique was granted, and the vessel was berthed at the Taranaki street wharf at noon yesterday. Calms and light south-easterly winds delayed the barque during the greater part of her passage. After passing Stephen Island northerly gales were experienced. The Raupo has 1087 tons of coal to discharge, and she will subsequently return to Newcastle to load more coal for Wellington. THE CITY OF WINCHESTER. The steamer City of Winchester arrived at Wellington yesterday about midday from Now York, via Auckland, and berthed at the Taranaki street wharf to discharge to the agency of the Federal Line. The vessel is to leave here at 4 p.m. to-day for New Plymouth, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff to complete discharge. She will subsequently load in New Zealand, under the auspices, of the Shaw, SaviU and Albion Line, for London. RADIO FROM SURREY. The Federal Line received a radio message yesterday , from the .Surrey en route from Liverpool, stating that tho vesel will arive at Auckland on Thursday afternoon. Tho vessel will reach Wellington a week later. ULIMAROA DUE MONDAY. The Huddart-PaTker Company adviso that the Ulimaroa is to leave Sydney on Thursday direct for Wellington, where 6he is due next Monday. The vessel is to sail on the return trip to Sydney and Hobart on the following Thursday, the 19th instant. MOERAKI IN THE STREAM. At 8.45 o’clock last evening the Union Company’s intercolonial - passenger steamer Moeraki arrived in the stream at Wellington from Sydney direct. The -vessel arrived too late for medical inspection, so the Port Health Officer will go out to her at 7 o’clock this morning, and it is expected that dhe will berth about 8.30 o’clock at No. 1. north (outer tee), Queen’s wharf. The Moeraki is to proceed on to Lyttelton this evening, is diue back at Wellington on Thursday morning, and is to sail on Thursday afternoon for Sydney and Hobart. WAIKAWA ARRIVED. Shortly after 1 o’clock this, morning the Union. Company’s cargo steamer Waikawa arrived in the stream at Wellington from San Francisco, via Auckland. The vessel will berth this morning to put out part cargo, and will sail to-morrow for Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney to complete discharge.
