JOHNSONVI.LLE CLUB. BRIGHT FUTURE PREDICTED. When presenting the prizes won last your at the opening of the season, the president, Mr Dunbar Sloane, of the Johnsonville Golf Club, predicted a bright future for Johnsonviile and the golf club. A large gathering of members and friends enjoyed afternoon tea provided by the ladies in the clubhouse after a mixed foursome had been played for trophies presented by the club captain—Mr W. Wallis. The following officers were elected for the year at the annual general meeting held recently Patron, the Hon. J. G. Coates, M.P‘.; president, Mr Dunibar Sloane; vice-presideinits, Messrs Boiirke, Moore and Redward: committee, Messrs Andrew, Ellis and R. B. Gibbons; lion, secretary, Mr C. B. Ferguson; hon. treasurer, Air F. W. G. Hoddinott; club captain, Mr W. Wallis; hon. auditor, Mr T. H. Gibson. The links now appear to be in better condition even than at any time during last season, and players are enjoying some excellent golf. A handicap stroke competition will be played on Saturday of this week.
