ARMY RETRENCHMENT
PROTEST AGAINST DISBANDMENT OF CAVALRY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 21, 8.15 p.m.) LONDON, April 21. Members of the House of Commons, who are officers, protested against the disbandment of four cavalry regiments. Sir Worthington Evans (Secretary far War) replied that there would still be use for the cavalry, but the war had proved their vulnerability freon ma-chine-guns and aeroplanes.
