The Purpose of the present issue of Seven-and-a-half per Cent. Bonds is to render a greater measure of assistance to many Farmers of this Dominion who are affected by the present financial stringency. Obviously, it is not advisable to call up new capital from the shareholders, as many of them are numbered amongst those who require temporary relief. Therefore the Directors have decided to approach the general public with an attractive investment in the present form, and they confidently anticipate that the whole issue will be quickly taken up in view of the national i importance of its aim. The Bonds are offered in three denominations—£2s, £SO and £ 100—for which applications are invited for £250,000. They are payable in five or ten years —from Ist May, 1921 at purchaser’s option, as declared at time of application. They are Bearer Bonds with Interest Coupons attached, which may be cashed at the Bank of New Zealand, or any olfice of this Association on due dates, free of Exchange. The fact that they will be readily transferable, without cost, like Banknotes, is a point of special importance. The Bonds are payable in full on application, or one-half on application, and balance spread over three months. Interest at the rate of 7 £ per centum per annum will be payable half-yearly on the first days of May and NQvember in, each year. Interest on tbe Bonds will be paid Free of Income Tax. Prodigious Success of “The Co-op." The prosperity of the Farmers of the Dominion has always been the guiding principle of thp Directors of The New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Limited. During the 39 years of its existence this policy has proved remarkably successful. The Association has paid an average annual dividend of 8% per cent. * interest on its ordinary capital, and its annual volume of business done has reached the stupendous total of £5,501,349, and the number of shareholders has grown to almost 12,000. Messrs.
