Holland, asked this question in the House of Ronrcsentatives -yesterday:—“Mill the Prime Alinister give the House an assurance that at the Imperial Conference he will not commit New Zealand to a pooling of the resources of the various countries in connection with the Imperial wax debt ?” The Prime Alinister’s reply was: “1 want the honourable member and the House to understand that when I go to the conference. I go not as a delegate. I go as the representative of the people of New Zealand, and I go with a free hand, and 1 don’t intend to make any pledges in the direction suggested by the member for Buffer. ’’
