STUDENTS’ ANNUAL PICNIC. The day students of Gilby’s College 'helu their annual picnic on Wednesday last, when about sixty students and friends spent a very enjoyable tune at Day’s Bay, weather conditions being perfect After a short sports programme had been gone through, the students indulged in swimming and played tennis and other games, according to their individual tastes. The winners of the various events are as under: 440 yards Handicap (boys)—H. Dyson 1, L. J. Reid 2.
225 yards Belay (girls)—Vera Chairman, Queen ie Philips, and Madge Colley 1, Thelma PUrfitt, Grace Judge, and Norah Gully 2. 220 yards Handicap (boys)—L. K, Thompson 1, H. Dyson 2. 75 yards (girls)—Hazel Dewhurst 1, Gretba Stark 2. 50 yatrds (girls)—Dolly Dyson 1. Hazel Dewhurst 2.
50 yards Three-legged Race (girls)— Tlielma Parfitt and Doris Hall 1, Vera Charm an and Olive Mitchell 2. Thread-the-Needlle —Madge Colley and Queenie Philips 1, L. J. Beid and J- D. Williams 2.
