STAFF PICNICS

MARINE DEPARTMENT. j The Marine and Inspection of Machinery Department, m conjunction with the Government steamers H:nemoa and Tutanekai, and -the training ship Amokura, held its annual picnic at Day’s Bay last week, a most enjoyable day being spent by all present. The party travelled to and from the Bay in the Tecrawhiti, which was kindly lent by the Union Steam Ship C-0., Ltd. There was no lack of competition in connection with the lengthy sporta programme which was run off, and the results of the various events are given below. The thanks of. the committee are due to all those individuals and firms who contributed to the. prize fund.
