“ THE MORNING AFTER ”
% : ’ THREE WEDDING GUESTS. TROUBLE ON VciTY TRAMCIAR. “They wouldn’t pay until the constable got aboard, and then they all wanted to pay.” This was the statement of a tramway conductor when giving evidence against a. trio, whose names were John Kelly, Neil Boyd and William John Jones, and who were before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday to account for their actions in causing a disturbance in a tramcaa- on the preceding evening. It was stated that the accused were members of a wedding party and they were travelling te the railway station to bid the bridal couple “bon voyage.” Aowever, a dispute arose as to who was going to pay the ladies’ fares, and in the oourse of the tangle, police aid was sought. Two of the men were charged with assaulting Constable MoKio and the other man (Boyd) was charged with vising obscene language. The magistrate fined each defendant £5, w’Jth costs.
