BOXING

ROBINSON BEATS O’HALLORAN. An -attraction put on by tbe Dannevirke Boxing Association this week was somewhat disappointing. It was the professional bout between O’Halloran (Dinnevirke), 9st’ 71b, and Len Robinson iGisborne), Bst 21b., and was for a purse of £SO and expenses. Robinson, stepped into, the arena as fit aa hands could make him, but O’Halloran, who has not been in the ring for six years, and who' in the interval has had quite a number of arguments with Fritz (in one of which he was badly gassed), was not in anything like his old form. He lasted" well and t' ave a good account of himself in the ret three of the ten three-minutes rounds scheduled, but when it came to the fourth, Robinson wadod in with terrific vigour, and after pummelling OHalloran round the ropes got him into a corner and punished him to a standstill, with a succession of blows to the head. The towel went in simultaneously with the announcement of Captain Stewart that the fight was Robinson's.
