JACK HEENEY RETAINS HIS TITLE. ' PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. DAIMJAVILLE, October 11th. Close on 1000 people attended the Northern .Wairoa Boxing Association's tournament on Saturday night, when Jack Heeney (Gisborne) and "Laurie" C'adnnn (Dargaville) fought for the Middleweight Championship of New Zoaiand and a puree of £l5O in 15 three-minute rounds. Heeney had the best of the rounds and in the ninth, Cadman went down for 8. In the ninth round Cadman was compleiely knocked out, Heeney retaining the championship. J. Cuttrell has challenged the winner for the championship. Several amateur events took place. Hemphila boat Clements; G. Clunis beat J. Clunis; M. Killct drew with P. Harris; Bignill beat Moses, and J. Btanaway drew with G. Stanaway.
