ITALY'S TROUBLES
SLUMP IN SECURITIES. FOLLOWS CLOSING OF WORKSHOPS. Publlshe.' in "The Timet." (Received October 11, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, October 10. A general slump in securities has followed the decision of the- Fiat Company to close its workshops on the grounds that, the present scheme of working is impossible. 'Die decision is reflected in the monoy market. The idra is now quoted at 90 pel- £l, compared with 35 a year ago.
