J. H. KIRKWOOD AT MIRAMAR There must have been close on a thousand golfing enthusiasts of both sexes at the Miramar links on Saturday to witness the exhibition game between J. H. Kirkwood, the visiting champion, and E. Douglas, the local export. And those who attended were amply rewarded, for it was indeed a most interesting day’. By steady, accurate golf, Kirkwood won by 6 up and 5 to play on the. 36th hole match, but it was. not such a runaway victory as might be thought. Four times dulling tho afternoon Kirkwood laid his opponent stymies. During the afternoon, Kirkwood, in an exhibition of “fancy” strokes, displayed an almost uncanny master of the ball, time and again accomplishing the seemingly impossible with ease and much dexterity.
