For committing oftenem against the city by-laws, Mr J. S. BvMia, S.M., yesterday dealt with offenders as follows:A. D. Postine, no number on rear of his motor-oar, fined 10s and 7s. costs; W. Grant and J. Greaves were each fined 7s costs for leaving their horses unattended in Customhouse quay; C. Howeon was charged with having no number on the front or rear of his motor-car, but His Worship said tho man was hardly responsible, as he was only driving tho car and was not the owner. Ho convicted and discharged defendant. For a similar offence W. Walling was fined 5s and 1*» costs; A. W. Pearson was fined 10s and 7 costs for having no lights on his motor-car. C. Ferkins was charged with having a defective drain in Constable street, and was fined 40s and 7s costs: B. Avery was fined 10s and 7 costs for leading no lights on his motor-car. Mr P. Burns, -who has many friends in tho Wellinifton district baa now taken over the Central Hotel, Emerson stroot, Napier. Under his capable management tho travelling public can depend upon recoivinp: tho best attention and accommodation. A hnbit that's good—the regular taking of IMPEY'S. MAY APPLE.
