At a meeting of the council of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce the three delegates from Samoa waited on the council, and '" gave details regarding matters there. After ■ hearing the delegates the following resolution was carried: "That this council supports the Auckland and Wellington Chambers of Commerce in recommending the matters brought forward by tho deputation from the Samoan Chamber "of Commerce to the favourable consideration of the New Zealand Government, and in particular urges that an elective representative Government bo granted to the British taxpayers of Samoa to the greatest extent practicable at present, and that the administration of Samoa- be conducted on sound business principles."
