SCOURED WOOL
MARKET OVER-SUPPLIED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received September 7, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, September 6. The' Gpnferenco/of shipping lines admits that it circularised its constituents quoting 2|d freight for secured v/001, but states, that It is now holding its hand pending developments. Probably the conference will neither withdraw nor impose an increase because scoured is forthcoming in such negligible, quantities that the freight quotations are practically a dead letter. It is unofficially explained that the reason the Imperial Government proposed preference for scoured is that the market is over-supplied, the wool warehouses are congested, delays are inevitable, and the wool will consequently lose its condition.
