CASUALTIES
A CYCLIST KILLED. COLLIDES WITH MOTOR-CAR AT FALMERSTQN NORTH. Mr Robert Dudley Worsfold, a married, man with 'a large family, whilst riding a bicycle along Featherston street, Palmerston North, collided with a motor-car, which was taking the corner at Terrace street and Featherston, street. Mr Worsfold was seriously injured and. removed to the hospital, where ho BUccumbed. Ho was connected with the Post and Telegraph Department for a number of years, But of lato he was employed as a gardener. SUDDEN DEATH IN POLICE CELL. An old man, who was arrested on Monday evening at Wanganui on a charge .of ..theft of ..garden .tools, died suddenly in the -lock-up yesterday morning. His name is at present unknown. He has a large scar on the forehead and another on the cheek. He is alleged to have sold the tools to a second-hand dealer under the name of Albert Jones, Kent 'terrace. FOOTBALL PLAYER INJURED. During the course of the annual Rugby football matoh WeJHngton t. Christchurch railway engineers, a player named Thornton (of the Christchurch team) wae severely injured. He was rhrrind off the fielfl and removed to the Hospital.
