The '"Daily Express's" Warsaw correspondent states that Makhroif, who ; is General Wrangel's Chief of Staff, " held a conference with the Polish staff, and as a result 150,000 troops were collected in Poland, and will shortly ; take the field under General Wrangel, ', including a number of, Bolshevist prisoners, who are now believed to favour General Wranged. PARIS, September 5. The "Matin V Warsaw correspondent states that General Wrangel has urged Poland to continue fighting, and .not. to abandon Russia on the eve. of her liberation; but the consensus/of opinion in Warsaw is that the conclusion of peace is essential. A communique issued at Warsaw on Saturdayjsays that Lithuanian detachments crossed the frontier and attacked tho Polish cavalry. The communique romaini; silent regarding tho outcome of •the fighting. The Supreme Council has informed the Lithuanians that they propose a hew line of, demarcation running througli Margrabovo, Augustovo, and Ozzugzyn. It is understood that tho Lithuanians place the responsibility for the hostilities upon the Poles, and rontend that Lithuanians were compelled to defend themselves. t On tho other hand the Poles claim that tho Lithuanians fired the first shot.
