WELLINGTON CASE TAKEN IN ' GEteISTCHUROH. PBB PEESS ASSOCIATION. OHRISTCHTTRCH, September 6. In the Divorce Court to-day, before Mr Justice Herdinan, a case was heard in which Luke Prospect Hughes (Mr Lucas) alleged adultery on'the part of his wife Dpra Irene Ellen. Hughes; William H. Cowan being' cited as corespondent. As the parties reside in Wellington, His Honour asked what was the reason for the case being brought to Christchurch.
Mr Lucas said that the parties were married herp. There was no rule against a. petition being" heard in another town. 0 . :
His Honour: Was it for the purpose of preventing publicity? Mr Lucas: Probably, Your Honour. His Honour: Then that's very .wrong. .• ■ . His Honour said he would deal with the case, as there was no rule against it being heard here. A deed was put in in which respondent admitted adultery with the corespondent. A decree nisi was granted, to he made absolute in three; months.
