COURT FEES
RECENT INCREASES OUTLINED. The revised scale of charges in connection with the Supreme Courts and the Magistrates' Courts of New Zealand is now in operation. In the Magistrate's Court the charges that were Is have gone up to 2s, and the other increases are: 2s to 3s, 3s to ss, 5s to 10s. The minimum solicitors' fees for appearance in defended cases in which the amount involved is under'£lo remain at a guinea* but in cases in which more than this amount is involved there is now a charge of £2 2s, and the fee on chamber matters has been increased from £1 Is to £1 lis 6d- Expenses allowed to witnesses have gone Up roughly 20 per cent. An increase of about one-third has been made in Divorce Court fees.
