(By "Eileen.") September 3. Mr and Mrs H. Arkwright, of "Overton” (Rangitikei), were in town early this week. Mrs Cholmley; of New. Plymouth, is in WanganUC;for :a. .'few..Mays. -v Mrs Allen Hogg, of Mastertdn, is' on a visit to. her mother, Mrs Swan, Lilliton street. , Miss Peat, of College street, left this week for Wellington. . The marriage of Miss Gwendolyn Marfaret Hole, only daughter of Mr and Mrs I. W. Hole, of Wanganui, took place at little St. Agnes’ Church, Tayforth, oh Wednesday, the bridegroom being Mr Maurice Campbell, eldest son .of Mr and Mrs Ewan Campbell, of Kaitoke, the Ven. Archdeacon; Eeeve officiating. The little church- was nicely :.decorated :f6r the occasion by .friends of the * bride, who was given away by her father, and Was gowned in ivory 'brocaded, oharmeuse. The softly draped skirt, was worn over palest pink chiffon, and the jumper boctico had a brood band of silvery lace falling below the waist. The under bodice and sleeves were of georgette. She wore an old Brussels lace veil'(lent for the occasion), caught : with bridal flowers, and carried a charming bouquet. The bridesmaids word Miss Jessie Martin; of 'Martinborougii,’ aid Miss Valerie St. Johu-Smith, of London, England.* They wore very dainty frocks of apple-green brocaded crepe de chine. The skirts wort frilled and finished with jumper blouses. ‘ - Their hats were Of nigger-brown tulle, finished with yellow daisies and' green leaves, and they carried bouquets of yellow and green, and . wore .gold - knife-edged brooches sot with aquamarines, the gift of the bridegroom. Air Prank Newman; of Wellington, and Mr Charles Hole attended as groomsmen. Mrs Hole,'.mo-, ■ther of the bride, wore a costume of tulle, braided in black, with accordionpleated skirt and. black tagel hat with white ostrich feather. Mrs - ‘Ewan Campbell (mother of the bridegroom) wore black silk and black hat wreathed with tiny flowers. Mrs Harold (auint of the bride) was in grey figured silk, hat in same, (shade, with white ostrich feather.' Miss J. Campbell wore navy cloth piped in old rose, and hat of navy straw. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of Mr and Mrs H. H. Hole. -Later, Mr and Mrs Maurice Campbell left en route for MartoU, Mr and • Mrs Henry Arkwright having placed' "Overton” at their disposal for'the honeymoon. The bride wore a pretty travelling gown of putty gaberdine, banded with silk braid, and straw hat of navy finished with ostrich mount of blue. The children of the third and fourth standards at the Gonville School gave a realjy enjoyable concert on Tuesday afternoon. The big central hull was well filled with parents and friends and pupils. The various part songs, dances, and recitations. were thoroughly enjoyed. (Miss Martin .accompanied' throughout. The lightning sketches of Mr Caiman were very good. The headmaster and staff are to bo complimented on-, the concert. " ■Miss Martin, of Martinborough, ' is the guest of Mrs H. H. Hole at Hill Street. .

Mr and Miss Dwyer, of Auckland, are spending a few days in Wanganui.
