Tho Wellington Hockey Association’s senior-championship was played at Knlori Park on Saturday afternoon between the United and Rambler; Clubs, and resulted in a win for tho latter by two goals to one. ■ , A very'small number of sportsters ah tended to watch the match, which was * hard, fast,’ and interesting one through out. Neither side had a distinct advent age, both teams playing up to their standard as in the opening rounds, Ramblers pressed hard from tho initial bully, and after a few minutes play, from a 1 rush into Uuited’s circle-by Heapby. Loader opened ,up the score with k brilliant shot. At half-time there was no alteration in the, score. A rathei long period of even and interesting play was broken., when Boyd managed to shoot the equaliser for United. Just on the call of time Loader, made an attempt to score, but, Huter, the United custodian hit out. Smith, however, got the i"white,” and ran in netting a fine goal. The game thus ended in favour of Ramblers by two goals to one. THE,PLAY.

From the bully Richard (United) took the ball right , to the circle, but the defence was too strong, and the ball found its way to the centre, of the .field, where by good'solid play the game went at a great .pace up and- down the .field. Shortly before half-time, Heaphy (Ramblers) got the ball at half-way, and beating Berry (United left full-back) went to the side of the circle, where Miller (who was playing a great game) tackled, but Heaphy ‘centred hard across, and Loader was enabled to score first blood for Ramblers. On resuming, play again became fast, and the ball travelled np and down the field very quickly. Before long; from "a scramble in’ front of Ramblers goal, the ball just rolled in from a hit off Richards and made the scores! all. Both teains were eager to lead, and’ supporters were getting very anxious, as it looked as if the game would bo a draw, but a few minutes before time was called, Heaphy _ had ’ a shot, which Hunter (United goalie) kicked out, but Smith, following up, put the ball through before Hunter could recover for a second shot. Ramblers thus won the 1920 championship. Both teams were evenly matched, and it would be very hard to single out any of-the players. Messrs Grade and Edwards refereed.
