September 4 Beautiful weather prevailed this afternoon for the Rugby match between Wanganui and Otago, which was played at Carisbrook before an attendance, of fully 8000 spectators. Tho game proved somewhat one-sided, the Otago forwards being very much superior to the opposition, and tho homo team finally won by 34 points to 9. EARLY PLAY EVEN. Even play followed the kick-off for some minutes until the Wanganui forwards broke away, but wero turned back. A good kick by McDougall placed Otago momentarily on the offensive, but tho visiting banks returned play to halfway, where it remained until good line kicking and a bright piece of passing gave Wanganui a chance, but the passing broke down.
