CHAMPION ATHLETES
AT QUEEN’S CLUB, LONDON. NEW ZEALANDERS COMPETE. - Australian and N.Z. .Cable Association. (Received September 6, 12.10 a.m.) LONDON, September 3. The largest attendance on record at athletic sporte in England witnessed ten events' at -the Queen’s _ Club between the American competitors in-the Olympic Games and the British Empire, consisting of the Olympic competitors and university athletes. Davidson and H. E. Wilson (New Zealand ere), Ken. T. Hughes (Victoria), E. V. Dunbar (Queensland) participated Each side won five event*, the Americans taking the broad jump, the 440 yards hurdles, three relay races of four miles, two miles, and 410, yards. The British‘won the high jump, one mile, and ; two-mile relays, and half-mile re*lay,, in which Davidson finished first by •ix yards. Thompson, the Canadian champion, won the 120 yards hurdles in 14 4-Ssec, creating a world’s record on the grass.
