KARORI COUNCIL CHAMBERS
THEIR FUTURE USE. The purpose to which the old Borough Council Chambers at Karori are to be put was referred to at last night's meeting of the Karori Progress League. ■ "This hail ns Vt stands at present," said one ratepayer, "is no use to anyone, and is absolutely wasted; it is too small to bo of any 'service.'' Suggestions were made that it should be converted into a library or social hall. The latter idea was condemned by one gentleman as unwise; a large hall was required for the growing needs of the district, and the City Council might be looked to to provide a more adequate building. ~\ Other ratepayers present pointed, out that the council was not so generously disposed, and that other outlying positions of the city were as poorly off as Karori. ■ *
