IN A BUTCHER'S SHOP
ALWAYS "CHIPPING AT HIM."
William Bailey, a butcher employed at a branch shop of Preston's, in Tara* naki street, proceeded against a fel-low-worker named Charles Mansell for having assaulted him at the shop on August 13th last. ' It was stated by the complainant that he painted the window of the establishment, but on two occasions defendant, rubbed it off, and when askwhy he did it, said he "resented the plaintiff always "chipping at him," and was alleged to have hit him on the head and ear.
After hearing the evidence, His Worship said he wa» satisfied that the assault was unprovoked, and imposed a fine of £3 plus £2 2s solicitor's fee. Mr P. \W Jackson appeared for the defendant.
