THE MAN WHO TOOK THE WRONG TURNING. A young man named George A. H. Nixon burst into tears when charged in the Magistrate's Court yesterday with being an idle and disorderly person. Messrs I. JSalek' J.P., and D. Keir, J.P., were on the bench. It was Btated that accused was found "at the rear of the premises of the Bawen street Hospital on the 30th of last month, and When questioned by the hospital porter he had given an. unsatisfactory explanation and was taken to Dr Herbert, who was not satisfied and called in the police. Accused told the police, that he was a hotel porter, and was an a holiday from Feflding and was visiting friends on The Terrace, and evidently mistook the premises for a publio thoroughfare. The young m'aft detailed his evidence •between sobs; of emotion, and said he was 24 years'of age and intended to find work in Wellington. Their Worships decided to give the accused the benefit of the doubt and dismissed - the case. Sub-Inspector _ Emerson appeared for the prosecution and Mr 0,, A. L. Treadwell for the accused.
