MINING DISPUTE

FURTHER DIFFICULTIES NOT REGARDED AS SERIOUS. Official information was reoeived in Wellington yesterday that new disputes have arisen in connection with the mining industry, but the position in authoritative circles was not regarded as of a serious nature. On tho West Coast there is difficulty on account of a matter arising out of the federation. It is stated that two blacksmiths working at the Blackball mine have declined to pay the levy recently struck by the federation upon all members for the benefit of the strikers and strikers' dependents at Broken Hill. The miners have not returned to tho normal output since the settlement of the previous disputes last week, and it is understood they decline to do so until the blacksmiths either pay the levy or are discharged by the company. Another dispute has arisen at the Pukemiro and Rotowaro mines, in the North Island. The federation has intimated that if the miners engaged are not granted railway conveniences similar to those secured by the State miners,. they, will not purchase tickets next Monday,, and will not go to work.
