THE COAL CRISIS
PARTIES IN CONFERENCE. On Saturday afternoon representatives of the Coal Mine Owners' Association and of the New Zealand Coal, Gold, Shale, Quarry, and Tunnel-work-ers' Federation met to discußs the points in dispute in regard to the interpretation of the agreement arrived at some months ago. Tho conference was held in privates in one of tho committee rooms of the House of Representatives. Tho Prime Minister, the Right Hon. W. F. Massey, presided, and the following were the delegates present:—Miners' Federation: Messrs P. O'Rorke (president), W. Braidwood and J- O'Brien (members of the executive), and J. Arbuckle ( secretary). Mine owners: Hon. E. "\V. Alison, Messrs W. Recce, and C. S. Owen; and W. Pryor (secretary). The conference is being continued this morning.
