PRICES IMPROVE SLIGHT INCH EASE ON LAST OFFERING. Messrs Abraham and Williams report;—Wo offered a largo catalogue of all classes at the hide sales to a full bench of buyers. Bidding! was keen at a higher rate of values, compared with last sales, with tile exception of tallow, which was very dull or sale. Prices for hides and calf showed a alight recovery, and realisations should prove satisfactory to clients. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., report;—Wo submitted a catalogue of 1400 hides, 300 yearlings and kip, and 260 calfskins. Our offering of hides comprised some choice lots in superior condition, which elicited keen competition. Compared with last sale, the market showed a much firmer tone for heavy and medium ox, with a lower tendency in cows, light weights, yearlings, and calfskins. LEVIN AND COMPANY. - Levin and Co. report: —We submitted a nice selection of hides to a large attendance of tanners and exporters and prices were somewhat erratic. In sympathy with the Australian market and a weaker American demand, there was a further decline in the market for all sorts except ox. Messrs Dalgety and Co., report:— At the usual sale the catalogues submitted were larger than usual. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was quite keen Tor all lines of medium and heavy hides, prices being a shade firmer than at our last sale on April 23rd. Tho light hides, kips, and calfskins all sold at satisfactory prices considering the drop that has taken place in tho market, in the meantime, and rates were on a par with our last sale to a shade lower. Damaged' and inferior hides are difficult of sale, but we (Seared all our catalogue at satisfactory prices. In sympathy with, the London market, tallow prices were considerably lower, the drop being from 5s to 10s per cwt., according to quality. We quote-.
