PROVISIONS OF NEW BRITISH BILL. A. astral in r. nral X,/., 'all'. Association. (Received Mav 23, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. May 21. The new Agricultural Bill has been introduced in the House of Commons. Its main principles consist of guaranteed prices ,of wheat and oats to be fixed annually, and a, minimum wage for farm labourers. Hie State, in return, is empowered to control cultivation in certain directions, with a view to making the best use of cultivable land. The bill increases the security of farmers’ tenure by awarding compensation for disturbance on .a greatly increased scale.
