WEATHER PROSPECTS
(By the Dominion Meteorologist.) Present indications (j p.m. yesterday) arc for strong south-easterly winds, particularly in and about Cook Strait, but probably decreasing soon; expect cold and showery conditions, especially in tho East Ooast districts of the North Island; fair to cloudy conditions ruling in tho southern districts, and an improvement may bo looked for shortly. Tho barometer has a rising tendency. (Summary on last page.)
