An important step, forward in the New Plymouth harbour development scheme took place on Easter Monday, says the “Taranaki Herald.” A charge consisting of over a ton of explosive was fired at the end of a 40foot tunnel near the summit of Moturoa Island and the result was the bringing down of 30,000 or 40,000 tons of rock.
