IMPERIAL PURCHASES TOTAL PAY VENTS £133,091,240. NEARLY SIX MILLION CARCASES STOKED. jk The total payments made to date by tire Imperial Supplies Department for Now Zealand produce on account of tho British Government amount to £133,091.240. MEAT SHIPMENTS. The total shipments of meat ainco operations commenced in March. 1915, have boon; —2,885,043 quarters of beet, 12,299,080 carcases of mutton, and 13,635,510 carcases of lamb. The meat in store on March loth. 1920, for which no space has been allocated in overseas steamers, was; North Island, 3,770,929.carca5e5; South Island. 1,967,117; total in 601 b carcases, 5,738,046. STORED CHEESE, 274,411 ORATES. Of cheese, operations in regard ;o which commenced "in November, 1915, the number of crates shipped to date :s 2.623,883.

The cheese in store awaiting shipment on account of Imperial Government on .March 29th, 1920. was; —North Island, 226.813 crates: South Island, 47,598 crates: total in crates, 274,411. In all 1,797,430 boxes of butter have been sent away on Imperial Government account since November, !9i7. Th e butter in store, advanced against and awaiting shipment on account of the Imperial Government on March 29th, 1,920, was; —North Island, 73,524 boxes;’South Island, 3958; total, 77.482. A total of 774 tons of scheelite has been shipped to date. AVOOL OPERATIONS. The wool operations, which commenced December Ist, 1916, are summarised as under:—Total number of tales valued 2,039,157, bales lost in transit 9668, arrived r at destination 1,090,393, eii route to Great Britain 30,202, shipped to America 10,321, shipped account other Governments 110,994, greasy wool delivered to scourers for treatment 357,434, greasy wool available for shipment or scouring 430,145, scoured and fellmongers’ slipo wool shipped-282,185, scoured and fellmongers’ slipe wool available for shipment 56,142; total payments, £49,600,913. Total number of bales paid for 2,031,092. • The following are the particulars of the slipe wool (freezing ’ompaaics) • Purchased for valuation in I'idled Kingdom.—Total number of hales advanced against 68,880, bales shipped 67,085, bales shipped account other Governments 1795; total payments to date, £2,013,123. Purchased under New Zealand valuations. Total number of bales 138,406, bales shipped 80,789, bales account other Governments. 7604; total payments to date £3,86^,221. SHEEPSKINS AND HIDES. The total number of sheepskins purchased and distributed to fellmongers since February, 1917, is 6,380,501. Tho operations in hides, commenced in March, 1917 were as follow:—Number of hides purchased, 370,509; hides shipped, 150,826; hides sold, 212,627; total payments ’to dale, £735,663.
