DEAR DRIED FRUIT
NEW SEASON’S SUPPLIES
Advice has been now received from Australia that the new season s Mildura dried fruits, which will be delivered during May, June, and duly, will show increases from last year or 3d to 4i per Jb. In addition, supplies are going to be scarce. For Free, Crown Mildura currants, the quotation, f.0.b., Melbourne, is 9id per lb. as against 7jd last year, and Hid for Free Crown sultanas, as against 7d for the previous season. So far, only about 25 to 50 per cent, of orders aro being confirmed, so that there is likely to bo a grave, fehoru age in supplies. American prices flre expected to be extraordinarily high, one quotation received being almost double that of last year's.
