MANY OFFENDERS FINED. Persons chareed with breaches of the by-laws were dealt with Mr E. - Page, S.M.. at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday. On a charge of drivmtr a motor-car on tho Hutt road at a speed of 40 miles per hour, Charles E. Cross was fined JS23 and 7s costs, and for exceeding the speed limit of 15 miles per hour in Customhouse auay Fred. D. Butler was mulcted £2 and Ts costs. Eileen Matthews was frimilarly dealt with, for driving a car over the inter-section of Moles worth and ILawkostone streets nt more than eight miles per hour. David Andrews suffered the same fate for failing to stop his car when called upon to do bo. Alexander Ross was fined 10s and 7s costs for having no roar light on his ear. Patrick Boyle was fined 10s and 7s costs for riding a bicycle without a light. For allowing 6tock to wander, of/endors were penalised as follow:—J. Fyfe, £2; Patrick Donogue and John A. Bradley, XI Aach? Percy Johnson, William Rice, and Frank Monsion. 15s each; Brownlee, Ltd., Charles Jensen, Albert Humphreys, Leonard Linsay, James McGee, Thomas Monihan, James J. Moore, Ernest E. PeiTy, .and Edward White, 10s each; John Carswcll, ss. The defendants wero also debited with the costs of the proceedings. Walter T. Robinson, S. Pot-tor-and Michael Brown were each convicted a/nd ordered to pay the costs. George Adams was fined £2, and 7s costs for allowing a sanitary appliance on his premises to remain defective and Mrs E. F. Lieber ; was penalised to the extent of 10s and 7s costs for not making provision- for the carrying off of «torm water. A fine of £1 and 7s costs was imposed on Frod. Lamberg for permitting fly larvae to exist on his" premises. W. Oldham being mulcted 10s and 7s costs for a similar offence.
