At a meeting of the North Canterbury Post and Telegraph Officers' Associp.tdon tho following resolutions woro passed ';-*- (1) That the salary allotted to tho secretary- of the department and administrative officers is entirely inadequate to the responsibility of the position and in comparison with thote paid to manasicrs, etc., in commercial concerns is almost farcical; tho salary paid to tho General Manager of tho Railways should be taken for purposes of comparison, and we consider a substantial addition should bo immediately made. (2) That tho minimum salary allotted to nnv executive officer bo not lean than £330 'p»r annum or at least £SO per annum above the maximum paid to the rank and ;file.
