FROZEN MEAT EXPORT
QUESTION OF SHIPPING. CONFERENCE AFTER EAST Eli. As a result of tbo recent discussion by the Board of Agriculture, in conjunction with invited delegatee Irom different interests, upon the question of frozen meat and shipping, it was arranged that a further and larger conference should bo held at an early date, and the Farmers’ Union, Agricultural and Pastoral Associations, Sheopowners’ Uni in. Freezing Companics, and Dairy Association were invited to select delegates to attend this conference It had been anticipated that a would bo held before Easter, hut circumstances have arisen which necessitate its postponement until after tbo Easter holidays. One important matter for discussion is the question of shipping conditions and freights when the time comes for Dominion produce to bo sold in the open market. The shipping companies were communicated with, but, owing to the position not yot being clear, are not yet able to furnish the information necessary to enable the proposed discussion on these points to bo carried out to tho best advantage. They have, however, intimated that they will communicate further as soon as they are in o- position to do so.
