Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from London, . dated March 16th, 1920:—"As compared with February closing sales the present opening sales show merinos and fine crossbreds five per cent, dearer, medium ■ crossbreds and coarse crossbreds unchanged." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegrom from their London house under date March 16th, 1920: As compared with last sales closing rates prices are lower by about 5 per cent to <i per cent, for fine crossbred and menono. Tho season for stone fruits is now rapidly drawing to a close, and in this class only small consignments of peaches and plums are now reaching tho market. Apples continue in heavy supply, and prices remain at a low level. Consignments of pears have not been coming forward quite to freely during the past few days, and values for choice dessert varieties have I undergone a slight advance. Large quantities of tomatoes are now coming in from tho Hutt district, and low prices ere ruling. Passions, grapes and quinces ore in good demand with only small supplies offering. Moderate supplies of most varieties of Vegetables are now offering. in the local auctions, and prices generally are ruling at a reasonable level.
