LADIES’ SENIOR SHIELD. . An interesting match was played at the Petone Club s courts on Saturday afternoon to decide the ladies’ senior club championship .for .the Wellington Provicnial Lawn Tennis Association’s Shield. The match was the outcojne of a challenge issued by the Brougham Hill Club to the holders of the shield (Petone) and ended in favour of the latter by a comfortable margin. - Petone won the match by—4 rubbers to 2; 9 sets to 4; ,63 games to 44. Details are as follow, Petone players being mentioned first in each case:— Singles.—Miss Curtis v, Mrs Sinclair, 6—O, 6—6; Airs Parkinson v. Airs Howe, 6—2, 6—l; Aliss Arrowsmith v. Miss Tracey, 6—4, 6 —5; Miss Nnughton v. Aliss- Williams, 5—6, o—6. Doubles.—Aliss Curtis /and Mrs Parkin-’ son v. Aliss Sinclair and Mrs Howe, 6—3, 6—3; Aliss' Arrowsmith and Aliss Naughtou.v.
