PETTY THEFTS BY YOUTH
ADMITTED TO PROBATION
Several charges of petty theft were admitted by a youth before air E. Page. S.M., at the Police Court yesterday. Chief Detective A. Ward , said that the accused had been employed at a local office for about two yeais, and that during the months of October, November, and December, last bo stole a silk scarf, a watch, a five-shilling piece, end * rubber stamp outfit, of a total value of about iM 6s, the property of various persons employed at the office. His previous record was good, and he had a good homo. It was not anticipated that ho would give further trouble. The magistrate, in admitting the lad to probation for three years, said that ho was taking into consideration hia previous character and his ago.
