Special to "Times.” OTAKI, March 18. The closing, of the Levin District High School for the recent licensing election caused indignation in Levin where practicallv no interest was taken. At the last school committee meeting strong comment was made, and exception taken to the manner in which the school uas closed. It was decided to draw the attention of the Education Board and MiField M.P., to the fact that some 600 children lost a day’s tuition and three contractors pay for tlie day. It jvas stared that each vote cast cost over ] 6s, while at Ohau the single vote recorded there °°A Levin lady, while on a visit to Poroutawhao on Wednesday, was chased L a bullock, but luckilv gained access to a -house and slammed the door just m it 'instated that some -roles at the recent licensius -election cost £o. The business people of Otaki have decided to close their premises from 9 o’clock on the Thursday night before Ehstor to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, thus enabling all concerned to have full Easter h and two hinds were liberated on Wednesdav on the reserve near the hLwl-works of the Levin water supply. Thev were secured at Paraparaumu by Air C. Bould.
