At the annual meeting of the Talisman Consolidated, Ltd., the chairman referred to his announcement at the last annual meeting that a block of ore about SOft in length had been driven through at No. 13 level, and appeared to be of a payable nature. The manager continue driving until he reached broken and soft country of the class encountered at a similar point in the levels above. He then came back to the point indicated and had sunk a winze, which to-day was down 129 ft. Before the mill closed down a rise was put on this make of stone, and good values were carried up for about 80ft, and for about 60ft laterally, the average crushing value being about A 7 a ton. In sinking the ■winze varying conditions as to width and values prevailed, the latter ranging from A 7 or AS to about £1 per ton. The progress of boning to explore the reef 500 ft below the No. 15 level had been slow, paid thel chairman. Milling would not bo resumed until the exploration work in the present No. 16 winze, and the completion of the boring operations, showed that there was a prospect of sufficient payable ore being developed to warrant it. A shareholder asked why a dividend was not paid. The chairman replied that the matter had been discussed, and it was decided the money waa necessary for the development of the mine.
