ANNUAL MEETING OF ATHLETIC CLUB. The forty-second annual meeting of the Athletic Football Club was held last night when Mr W. S. Ridler presided over a large attendance. ANNUAL REPORT. Tho Management Committee s report for the season 1919 contained the following sentences:—The club has experienced a very successful season, and with n return to normal times, the prospects for tho immediate future appear particularly bright. Tho club had not regained its pre-war strength in point of numbers, and teams were entered in the senior, third, and fiith grades only. The senior championship Was keenly contested throughout the season- At the end ol the usual second round the chib's team was leading, but the curtailment of re. presentative matches caused a third round to be played. The team failed to maintain its advantage and finished a point behind tho winners. Tho third grade team was again most successful in its matches and won the championship for the second year in succession. Tho fifth class team also annexed the honours in its grade. The committee expects that during the ensuing season many more of the players who have been absent on active service will resume their playing associations with the club, and that this will result in teams being entered for all the .competitions, j Representative honours were gained hy the following members : —North Island team : Messrs R. J. Paton, E. Roberts, and W. Ryan. Wellington rep- team :'Messrs C. Chesterman, G. B. ITeley, W. McCabe, E. J. Paton, E. Roberts, W. Ryan, and L. Spencer. During the "off” season the committee followed the policy of previous years and leased the gymnasium for . storage .purposes. The revenue derived from this source is very welcome, and with the continued help of old players end supporters, a sinking fund for the purpose of liquidating the mortgage on tho gymnasium property is gradually mounting up- A further A3o(i, approximately, is required, anil the committee hopes that as a result of the coming season’s activities this amount will be considerably reduced. The committee notes with much satisfaction tho revival of operations, after the war period, by the , Athletic Football Sports Club. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
